Custom Field Groups

Field groups allow you to add a group of custom fields specific to your needs.

Manufacturing Details!

Manufacturing Details is a default custom field group.

Manufacturing Details

These fields allow for critical manufacturing details to be associated with the inventory items.

  • Manufacturer
  • Mfg. Serial No.
  • Mfg. Date Code
  • Mfg. Expiration Date
  • Mfg. Part No.
  • Mfg. Lot No.
  • PO
  • Shipping Documents
  • Manufacturing Certs
  • Other Mfg. Documents

Adding a New Field Group

You can add custom field groups to capture any additional information specific to your needs.

  • Click the + New Field Group button. The Create Custom Field Group dialog appears.
  • Enter a Name and Description for the group.
  • Click the + Add Field button to add a field.
  • Enter the Field Name and select the Field Type.
  • Add as many fields as you need for the group.
  • Clicking the trashcan Delete Field icon will delete the field.
  • Click Create.
Success!

The new field group exists. Expand the group and enter the relavent data for this item.

Field Groups are for all items.

When you create a new field group, that field group defiition is available for all inventory items.

Editing an Existing Field Group

You can edit an existing field group, and add, remove or modify the fields.

  • Expand the group you want to edit.

  • Click the pencil Edit button.

    This brings up the Update Custom Field Group dialog. Modify, add, or remove fields as necessary.

    Field Groups are for ALL items.

    The edit is for ALL items, not for the specific item being edited. If you remove a field or change a field's type, this can result in data loss for any items using those fields.

  • Click Save and accept any confirmations to save the edits across the board.

Deleting a Field Group

  • Expand the group you want to delete.

  • Click the trashcan Delete button.

    Changes are Global!

    Deleting a field group will permanently delete that group from any Inventory Item using those fields and can result in data loss.

  • Click Delete to confirm the deletion.

Success!

The Field Group has been permanently deleted.
