Engineering BOM (eBOM)
The eBOM is a table that lists all component parts required to assemble the part being built. You can add additional component parts to the eBOM manually, by importing from Excel, or Boltline supports importing eBOMs from several PLM Integrations.
The eBOM can be found in the Boltline P/N detail window, at the bottom. Select the eBOM tab.
eBOM fields
The following fields are presented in the eBOM:
- Picture: Thumbnail of the part image if available.
- Part Number: Unique Alphanumeric Part Number.
- Name: Name of the part.
- Revision: Revision of the part - A part number plus the revision uniquely identifies a part for the eBOM.
- Qty Required: The quantity of the part number, including the correct revision, is required to assemble the part you're building.
- Qty Available: The physical quantity on hand (inventory) of this part.
Add an existing part to the eBOM:
- Click the
Add Linesbutton from the eBOM tab. - Search for the existing part in the search bar from the eBOM Editor window.
- Click the Qty
+from the part in the search results area to add that part as a line item for the eBOM. Note: You will see new parts and quantity added to the left slider for the eBOM. - Click
Save.
The newly added parts will be added to the eBOM table.
Removing a line item
Click the red X to remove individual eBOM line items.
Creating a New Revision
From the top of the eBOM grid, there is a Revision drop down indicating which revision this eBOM is associated with. To add a new revision for this part, click the +. This brings up the Create a Revision dialog.
By default, the new revision name will list the next revision name in alphabetical order. Update the New Revision Name to your desired revision and click Create to create a new revision, copying the eBOM from the previous revision selected.
Tips
- You can click
Export BOMto get a sortable or filtered view of the eBOM. - Export the eBOM for a shortage report (difference between quantity required and quantity available).
