Get Started with Workflows
Boltline's Workflows provide a flexible tool for visualizing, tracking, collaborating, and managing tasks, projects, and processes. Whether using a Kanban board or one of Boltline's other workflow templates, you can quickly capture process-driven task backlogs, engineering tasks, or business processes with just a few minutes of configuration. The simplicity of setting up a new workflow makes it easy for teams to adopt and adjust workflows naturally as their project management strategies evolve.

- Enter the Name of your workflow.
- If you need to, you can edit the name later under General Settings (found under the 3-dot menu when your workflow is open).

Templates
Boltline provides several workflow templates. In addition, you can start with a basic, Empty workflow to design as your work process dictates.
- Kanban Board: A basic Kanband Board with three statuses: Todo (Intake), Doing, and Done (Complete)
- Non-Conformance Report: A more complex template with four statuses and custom fields to kickstart your NCR process
- Xero-Integrated Board: A workflow with Xero integrations for managing purchase orders.
- Inspection Station
- Test Execution
The Xero-Integration may require an additional license and support. Contact your Boltline representative for more information.
In addition to the templates above, you can start with an Empty workflow that can be configured to suit your needs.
Add Status Columns
Click + Add Status Columns at the top right of the window to add a new column.
- Customize the columns in your workflow to capture the tasks or stages relevant to your process.
- Keep in mind that you can automate actions, such as sending a Slack message or triggering a webhook, when a card's status changes to a specific column. See Automations for details.
Filters
Use the Filters feature to instantly see which tasks are blocked or by filtering for other criteria. You can filter by labels, dates, assignees, part numbers, inventory items, card titles, dependencies, blocked statuses, and more. Click on the Filters button to see what's available.
