Part Inventory
Directly under the image placeholder at the top of the Part Detail page, the Available and Total inventory are displayed.
Available and Total Units
- Available: This number indicates how many instances of Inventory are available for this part and will not count any used, scrapped, planned, or reserved inventory items.
- Total: This is the total inventory quantity regardless of inventory status.
More Inventory Information

SERIAL/LOT: Indicates if the item is serially or lot tracked, and the serial number or lot number, respectively.

REVISION: Revision number for this specific instance of inventory for the part.

QUANTITY: The total inventory quantity regardless of inventory status.

LOCATION: The Physical location assigned to this instance of inventory.

STATUS: The Status for this instance of inventory.
Statuses:
- Available: The item exists in Inventory and is available for use.
- Planned: The item does not exist but is marked as planned.
- Reserved: Reserved for a kit but not attached to an aBOM yet.
- Used: Used and attached to an aBOM.
- Scrapped: The item has been scrapped and is no longer available.

MANUFACTURER: The manufacturer indicated for this part instance.

CREATED: Timestamp when the part instance was created in Boltline.
Add Inventory
This is just one of many ways to create inventory in Boltline. See Creating Inventory for more.
From the Part Inventory view:
- Click the
+ Add Inventorybutton. - From the Add Inventory dialog:
- Choose the Revision # for this instance.
- Enter the serial number or lot number.
- The serial number should be unique.
- Entering an existing lot number will add quantity to that unique Location + Lot.
- For serial-tracked parts, the quantity will always be "1". You can add multiple serial-numbered parts from the Inventory Sending & Receiving screen.
- For lot-tracked parts, enter the quantity to be added.
- Select the inventory location where the items are stored. Adding a location is recommended for more accurate inventory tracking.
- Click
Createto add the inventory item.
When Create Another? is selected on the Add Inventory dialog, the inventory item will be created, and you'll remain on the dialog to quickly add another item.
The new piece of inventory is now available!
