Inventory Fields
There is a slight distinction between inventory that is tracked by serial number, lot, and untracked.
One of the tenets that Boltline is built on is Flexibility. The software should not get in the way of the boots on the ground source of truth. Given that, we've made some decisions that allow for users to change serial numbers if that is the right thing to do.
Serial (S/N)
- S/N - For serially tracked items you will see the S/N for this single piece of inventory. Boltline allows you to change the S/N, but it must be unique for each part number.
- Qty - Number of units available for this S/N. The quantity will always be "1" for a S/N and cannot be changed.
- Inventory Location - The current location for this S/N. Changing the location will move the S/N (in Boltline) to the location selected.
Lot
- Lot - For Lot tracked Items you will see the Lot ID (alphanumeric). Boltline allows the flexibility to change this.
- Qty - Quantity on hand for this part and this lot ID. The number of units can be modified to match reality.
- Inventory Location - The current location for this lot. Changing the location will move the lot (in Boltline) to the location selected.
Move Partial Quantity
You can move partial quantities of Lot tracked items to match reality.
- Click the
Move partial quantitybutton, to the right of Qty | Units. When you hover over the circle with the move symbol, Move partial quantity appears. - Enter the Move Quantity. The quantity entered must be less than total quantity on hand for the lot.
- Click
Submit.
The partial quantity was moved to the chosen location. You will see the Inventory detail window for the partial quantity just moved.
Untracked
Untracked items behave the same as Lot tracked items, minus having a lot ID or S/N. You can modify location and quantity, and can move partial quantities.
