Changing Out a Part

Sometimes things change between design and implementation. Boltline allows you to change what part a piece of inventory is based on.

From the Inventory Item Detail window:

  • Select Edit
  • Select Change Part from the drop-down menu to bring up the Change Part for this Instance dialog.

From the dialog window:

  • Search for the part number, name, or ID in the Search box.
  • Select the desired part.
  • Select the desired revision.
  • Click Submit to change the base part.
Success!

The inventory item's base part has now been changed.

attached aBOM items persist

If there was an active aBOM for the piece of inventory, any assigned or attached items will remain as Extra Items on the aBOM.

If the new part and revision have an eBOM, it will show the items as Missing in the aBOM.
