Windchill Integration

Import parts, assemblies, and BOMs from Windchill into Boltline. This integration allows you to keep your engineering data synchronized with your manufacturing and inventory systems.

Prerequisites

Before configuring the Windchill integration, ensure you have:

  • Admin Access: Organization Owner or Admin role in Boltline
  • Windchill Access and Configuration: Local configuration is needed before configuring the integration.
    • Administrative access to Windchill
    • Boltline Agent
Extensive Configuration

You will need to work with your IT team to configure Boltline Agent and other tools on your Windchill installation as part of the Windchill integration. Please contact our Customer Success team at support@boltline.com for more details.

Step 1: Navigate to Integrations

  • Log into Boltline as an Organization Owner or Admin.
  • Navigate to Organization > Integrations.
  • Locate Windchill in the list of available integrations. If you do not see it listed, contact Customer Success to enable it for your organization.
  • Click Configure.

Step 2: Initialize the Connection

  • In the Connection section, click Connect to initialize the integration.
  • Once connected, the configuration fields will appear.

Step 3: Enter Configuration Details

Fill in the optional configuration field:

Step 4: Save Configuration

  • Click Update Configuration to save your settings.

Step 5: Configure Webhooks in Boltline Agent

Using the webhook URL in the Windchill config, configure Boltline Agent to send events to Boltline.

Success!

Your Windchill integration is now configured. Parts will begin being imported into Boltline as they are modified.

Viewing Imported Parts

Once configured, parts are automatically imported from Windchill. To view imported parts:

  1. Navigate to Parts Library in the left sidebar.
  2. Use the Category filter and select Imported from Windchill.
