Xero Integration

Integrate Boltline with Xero to connect your inventory and manufacturing operations with your financial management system.

Prerequisites

Before configuring the Xero integration, ensure you have:

  • Admin Access: Organization Owner or Admin role in Boltline
  • Xero Access:
    • Xero account with Standard or Advisor role
    • Permission to authorize third-party apps

Configure Xero Integration

  • Navigate to Organization > Integrations.
  • Locate Xero in the list of available integrations.
  • Click Configure.
  • In the Authentication section, click Authenticate.
  • You will be redirected to Xero to authorize the connection.
  • Sign in to your Xero account.
  • Select the Xero organization to connect.
  • Review the permissions and click Allow Access.
  • You will be redirected back to Boltline.
Success!

Your Xero integration is now connected.

Permissions Requested

When you authorize Boltline, the following Xero permissions are requested:

Sync Configuration

After connecting, configure data synchronization:

  • Inventory Sync - Sync inventory items and quantities
  • Purchase Orders - Create purchase orders in Xero from Boltline
  • Invoicing - Generate invoices for completed work

Enable a New Currency in Xero

Before Boltline can sync purchase orders in a new currency to Xero, you must enable that currency in your Xero organization.

Prerequisites

  • Admin-level access to the Xero organization.

Steps

  • Sign in to Xero.
  • Use the tenant dropdown in the top-left corner to select the organization to which you want to add the currency.
  • Click the organization name and select Settings.
  • Under the Accounting section, select Currencies.
  • Click Add currency.
  • Choose the desired currency from the dropdown.
  • Click Add currency to confirm.
  • Confirm that the new currency now appears in the currencies list.
